In one of my projects at my study I developed an instrument capable of measuring very short but intense impulses. Using a piezoelectric sensor and a pressure sensor for calibration we were able to determine the impulse. Because the piezoelectric sensor is very fast we could work with very high sample rates, thus producing great characteristics.
